Paralegal / Legal Assistant
A busy and growing law firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support our expanding Estate Planning Department. The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment while providing exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to multiple attorneys to include not only Estate Planning but other various legal matters
- Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and general filings
- Maintain and organize client files in both electronic and paper systems
- Manage calendars, track deadlines, and schedule meetings and appointments
- Communicate with clients, courts, and third parties in a professional manner
- Perform electronic filing in accordance with court or agency requirements
- Maintain contact lists and assist with client intake as needed
- Handle administrative tasks such as answering and directing phone calls, managing correspondence, and document preparation
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant, preferably in Estate Planning, Probate, or Elder Law
- Excellent knowledge of legal office procedures and estate planning documentation
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with case management (i.e. Clio) or legal software is a plus
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently
Requirements
- Working knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
- Paralegal certificate preferred but not required
- Strong computer and administrative skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must successfully pass a background check
Work Environment
This is an in-office position. The selected candidate must be available to work Monday through Friday. Remote work is not available for this role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
