The Role

We are seeking a sharp, highly organized, and proactive Family Law & Litigation Paralegal to join our team. This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit back and wait for instructions; we need a self-starter who anticipates needs, manages deadlines flawlessly, and takes true ownership of their caseload.

While family law experience is highly valued, strong litigation experience is our top priority. If you know your way around a courtroom timeline, discovery deadlines, and trial prep, we want to talk to you.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management: Oversee family law cases (divorce, custody, modifications, asset division) from initial intake through final resolution or trial.
Litigation Support: Draft pleadings, motions, orders, and legal correspondence. Manage the discovery process, including drafting requests/responses and organizing voluminous financial disclosures.
Trial Preparation: Prepare trial notebooks, exhibit lists, and witness files. Coordinate logistics for hearings, depositions, and trials.
Client Communication: Serve as a compassionate and professional point of contact for clients, keeping them updated on case status and gathering necessary documentation.
Calendar & Deadline Control: Maintain the firm’s master calendar, tracking court appearances, filing deadlines, and mediation dates with meticulous accuracy.

Litigation Experience: Prior experience in the litigation field is highly preferred. You should deeply understand court rules, filing procedures, and the fast-paced nature of active litigation.

Qualifications

Litigation or Family Law focus preferred
Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor’s degree is a plus, but proven hands-on experience is what matters most.
Proficiency with law practice management software, e-filing systems (Utah Courts/XChange), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
