Experienced Litigation Paralegal – Insurance Defense
THOMAS | LUCAS | WHIRL is seeking experienced litigation paralegals to join our growing defense firm with offices serving clients throughout California. This is an exceptional opportunity for a proactive, highly organized professional who thrives in fast-paced litigation and wants to work closely with trial attorneys on sophisticated matters from inception through trial.
Our practice focuses on insurance defense litigation, including general liability, premises liability, catastrophic injury, construction defect, public entity defense, and complex civil litigation. We pride ourselves on maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented culture with high-level legal work, strong support staff, modern litigation systems, and genuine respect for work-life balance.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking motivated candidates with:
- At least 5 years of California civil litigation experience
- Experience in General Liability and/or Construction Defect defense a plus
- Strong knowledge of California state court procedures and deadlines
- Experience managing litigation calendars, discovery, subpoenas, medical records, document organization, and trial preparation
- The ability to work proactively and independently while supporting multiple attorneys
- Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-through skills
- Familiarity with litigation management platforms such as Clio, Adobe, Microsoft Office, and electronic filing systems - not required
Trial preparation experience, carrier reporting familiarity, and the ability to manage complex files with minimal supervision are highly valued.
