What you’ll do
As a Managing Attorney, you’ll direct your own cases and manage your office staff while promoting a positive image of our firm in the Dansville community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage family law matters from intake through resolution, including:
- Divorce / matrimonial actions
- Child custody and visitation
- Child support / spousal support (maintenance)
- Other Family Court proceedings
- Independently manage the Dansville office
- Draft and review legal documents: pleadings, motions, discovery, agreements, affidavits, etc.
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
- Communicate clearly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Regularly litigate, including hearings, trials, conferences, and other proceedings as needed
- Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support teams to deliver an excellent client experience
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license in good standing to practice in New York State
- Family law experience of two years as lead counsel is required (divorce/custody/support and/or family court work)
- Strong client-service mindset and high ethical standards
- Highly responsive to clients and skilled in communication, organization, and case management
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
Preferred (nice-to-have) experience
- Experience managing a caseload with deadlines and performance metrics
- Comfort with practice management technology and modern workflows
- Billable hours structure
Compensation & benefits
Annual compensation: $100,000 – $180,000
Structure: Base salary + percentage of billed fees, plus performance incentives

Work location & schedule
This position is hybrid remote in Dansville, NY 14480. Court appearances and certain in-person needs require local/regional driving, with mileage reimbursement when applicable.
