Our office is looking for a full-time Legal Assistant to assist with Estate Planning and Nursing Home Medicaid. This person will be responsible for drafting legal documents, government forms and the enrollment process for Texas Medicaid, primarily long-term care benefits. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Medicaid policy and experience with benefit planning and placing long-term care Medicaid applications. Willing to train the right individual.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Associate's degree / or equivalent experience
- Strong Computer and database experience; Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook is a must.
- Detail-oriented, strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn case management programs and electronic document storage of legal files.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be flexible with needs, multitasking skills and ability to work within a multi-attorney firm.
- Self-motivated and capable of working within a team.
- Ability to handle e-mails and telephone calls from clients and any outside entity providing information and/or services to the client.
Experience:
- Must Have 2 years of Legal Assistant experience or
- Accounting/bookkeeping experience
- Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook
- Legal case management, Drafting, and Billing (preferred)
