Position Overview

This Paralegal or Legal Assistant position will be an integral member of Pemberton Law Firm’s Labor and Employment team, supporting Attorney Kristi Hastings in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. The role involves providing comprehensive assistance on a range labor and employment matters, including employment litigation; collective bargaining agreements; defending public entities; workplace investigations; labor negotiations; workplace trainings; contract issues; medical leaves; wage and hour; workplace misconduct; and employee separations; and performing other related responsibilities as assigned.

Position Information

Work Arrangement: In-office.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. (37.5 hours per week).

Hourly Wage: $20–$26 per hour. Candidates with a paralegal degree or certificate are eligible for a higher wage.

Position Status: Permanent, full‑time, non‑supervisory.

Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods; ability to lift/move file boxes as needed.

Essential Responsibilities

Calendar and monitor case deadlines.
Communicate with clients to gather information and relay periodic updates.
Assist attorney in preparing for meetings.
Collect potential client information.
Complete additional assignments as required/assigned.

Qualifications

Paralegal degree or certificate preferred but not required; candidates with relevant experience or education are encouraged to apply.
Minimum of two years of general office experience.
Associates degree required.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and solve problems independently.
Flexible, adaptable, and able to adjust to changing needs.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
