Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a comprehensive understanding of civil procedure, and strong reseaerch skills. This role is critical in supporting attorneys throughout the litigation process, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and timely. Training can be accommodated.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys in preparing for arbitrations, hearings, and meetings by organizing case files and gathering necessary documentation.
Conduct thorough legal research using platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategy and development.
Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence with clients and opposing counsel.
Manage case files using document management systems like MyCase, ensuring all documents are filed appropriately and accessible.
Perform document review and analysis to identify relevant information for ongoing cases.
Maintain communication with clients to schedule interviews, gather information, and provide updates on case progress.
Collaborate with attorneys on case management tasks including tracking deadlines, filing motions, and preparing exhibits for arbitration presentations.
Support administrative functions such as data entry, transcription of legal documents, and maintaining organized records within the law office.

Qualifications

Proven legal assistant experience in civil litigation.
Familiarity with Rules of Civil Procedure.
Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents; proofreading skills are essential.
Proficient in legal research techniques using tools like Westlaw and LexisNexis.
Experience with project management principles to effectively manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong clerical experience including filing, data entry, phone etiquette, and general administrative support within a legal setting.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
